San Antonio's only reconciling United Methodist Church. Today, the people of Travis Park United Methodist Church continue seeking to make the world a better place through transformation of self and community. We are a “roll up your sleeves” congregation. When we say "All" are welcome, we mean "All!" We serve and learn as brothers and sisters from all walks of life: rich and poor, housed and homeless, gay and straight, black and brown and white, secular and sacred, PhD and GED. The people of Travis Park UMC seek to live and love as God does: passionately and unconditionally. God calls us on a journey forward, to break down the walls of prejudice and to embrace all our brothers and sisters.

We all learn and grow by listening. “Following the hourlong conversation, Lucado answered questions from the audience that ranged from how he works to encourage women to participate in the ministry to fighting racism and [LGBTQ+] discrimination. In each response, Lucado highlighted his understanding that part of living the word of God is knowing when to admit that you can do better and when you have to stand up for something that isn’t right. “In order to do ministry well, I have to be willing to own those moments where I could have done better,” he said. “People in leadership positions need to ask more questions so that they understand how prevalent a problem is and how it impacts someone. I can have empathy for something like [childhood sexual abuse] because it happened to me, but I can also have empathy because I listened.”
It’s a gift to be part of this coalition for overnight hospitality for migrant families. What needed part can you bring?

Good Friday at Travis Park. Take My Mother Home. #goodfriday @ Travis Park Church
Just finished our 12 PM Good Friday Devotional with Corazon Ministries where our fiends read the Seven Last Words of Christ. Our NEXT Good Friday Service is at 7 PM in our sanctuary. #goodfriday. All Are Welcome. THE SEVEN WORDS OF JESUS ON THE CROSS @corazonministriessa It was a beautiful moment as our friends read each last word. 1) "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." 2) "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." 3) “Jesus said to his mother: "Woman, this is your son." Then he said to the disciple: "This is your mother." 4) "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" 5) "I thirst." 6) When Jesus had received the wine, he said, "It is finished;" and he bowed his head and handed over the spirit. 7) Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." Peace be with all of you today. #goodfriday #holyweek #truelove
